Santiam is out of the 1977 World Champion Mare and 1977 Res. World Champion Ladies Park Harness Mare, VF Chiquita.

Santiam is by the impressive sire and Elm Hill Charter Oak son, Charlestown Scotland.

Santiam's half brother, SBS Risky Business, has been very successful in the Carriage Driving Division in 2004.
